We're excited to announce the launch of the second call for our Joint Action Fund! With our unique approach to grantmaking, we’re inviting you to support us in driving positive change. Our strategy centres on collaborative innovation, peer learning, and adaptable early childhood development (ECD) practices, bringing together organisations and stakeholders to amplify impact and foster systemic change.
We're strengthening an evolving ECD ecosystem by promoting coordinated action across a portfolio of interconnected projects in the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia. The success of our first round underscores the value of this approach—and with your help, we can continue to make a lasting difference.
If this pooled fund interests you and you would like to learn more, please contact the Places to Grow Project Lead, Maxim Dedushkov at maxim@weareholis.org.
“We are working to implement a Primokiz approach in the Czech Republic, an evidence-based program licensed by the International Step by Step Organisation (ISSA). We did not want to jump in too quickly without being 100% clear that it would react to people’s needs. Thanks to the JAF project supported by Places to Grow, we have taken it slowly.”
Kateřina Sirotková
Czech ECD Platform
“The Joint Action Fund was a great support and motivation for us. Without that support, we would not have had such a project in Jelšava and could not have employed Ľubica as a coordinator. This has been very encouraging for us. Hopefully, the JAF will continue successfully for many years to come.”
Vladislav Matej
SOCIA
“From the beginning of this project with Places to Grow, it was apparent that everybody at the table was looking for the most holistic and complex solutions to our issues. It was all about how we could best change this or contribute to changing this problem and come up with the best solutions and collaborations.”
Zuzana Sojková
Department of Education in the Banská Bystrica regional government office
“Cooperation with Places to Grow brought us a more comprehensive view of the issue of early care and a more extensive understanding of the needs of children from generational poverty, which will positively impact the setting of public policies and proposals for innovative solutions to this challenging issue. Working with Places to Grow experts has given us a unique advantage that will help us work together on transformational projects with real and lasting impact”
Mgr. Denisa Nincová
Director of the Department of Social Affairs and Social Policies
“The added value is really the collaboration between the Places to Grow partners. It has been going great for both of us; this was a great learning opportunity.”
